Yesterday I visited the Wonderful World of Wondercrump, created by the team at Clockwork Scenery. Narrated by the (yes I’ll say it) dreamy Peter Serafinowicz, you are taken through a series of rooms which depict Roald Dahl’s life in a way that only Dahl could; via colourful and eccentric wonderlands. Among the corridor of oddities there is a Christmas Carol-esque glimpse into Dahl’s school days, a dark journey into the Fantastical Mr Fox’s forest, and a trip into Matilda’s not-quite-as-it-seems library. This is all topped off with a sweet shop selling paraphernalia for all things Dahl.
Well worth going if you’re near the WMC from now until December. The price is a little steep for what you get, but if you have kids they will definitely enjoy it, and so will your inner child. Especially when you reach the whoopee cushion wall.
