Today I want to share the most amazing artist installation I’ve found for a while. The Merrylin Collection forms a museum of oddities and curiosities, most of which are rather unusual, even to the most enthusiastic collector. A quote from the museum says it best;
[The Merrylin Collection] is a story of discovery, of dark secrets hidden within sealed vaults. It is a chance to peer into the void and let the void stare back. It is objects of curiosity brought into the light, which stand before you, asking you to place them in the context of reality. They ask, ‘What if I was real, what if I had lived?’
The story is an intriguing one, told by Alex CF, the creator and curator of the collection. According to the museum’s lore, a number of wooden crates found within a London basement in 2006. Over 5000 species were discovered within the crates, untouched since the mid-20th century, most if not all collected by the enigmatic Lord and Professor Thomas Theodore Merrylin.
Very worth an exploration, if you like myth, lore, and fairytales. Although after the findings of Merrylin, it’s up to you to decide whether or not the stories are real…
