Today I welcome you to the little world of Charles Matton. Matton was a French painter, sculptor, illustrator, writer, photographer, screenwriter and filmmaker. He sadly died in 2008, but his legacy lives on thanks to the work of his wife, Sylvie. Matton was part of the Hyperrealism movement, a genre of painting and sculpture dedicated to replicating life as though viewing a high-resolution photograph. His miniatures were perfect depictions of much larger scale rooms, completed with the ethereal qualities of decay and ruin. You can see more of Matton’s collections at his site.
